Come Knit Another Sweater (and some Flowers) with me!

OK … Spring … COME ALREADY!!! I am still in sweater mode but I’m determined to manifest Spring. Let’s gather, knit and learn to get us through this last phase of the season that never ends …..

First up, I am delighted to be returning to Fiber Circle Studio and repeating the Top Down Seamless construction series that was offered in January. So if you missed out, your have another chance! We will meet for 4 sessions at Fiber Circle Studio and knit a sweater together. In this (repeating) first part of a Sweater Workshop Series, we will focus on 4 topdown seamless bodice shapes and use them to explore how to analyze patterns relative to our own bodies. The goal is to develop a step-by-step pathway to understanding how to ‘see’ a pattern on ourselves - and manifest that ‘sweater in your head’.

This Knitalong is relaxed, supportive and fun. It will not be a boot camp - but we will cover substantive information and skills. By design, the class is small to make space for in depth questions and discussions. Alisha has been gracious enough to put a second run of this session on her busy class calendar and while it is a repeat, we have included a fingering option of the contiguous set in sleeve pattern if you want to knit something lighter. And stay tuned for Part 2 of the Sweater Workshop Series where we will knit bottom up seamless - and yes, there will be tee shirts!

And now to the Flowers … who can resist Savory Knitting’s fantastic Pressed Flowers patterns? It started with a shawl, then a hat, then a cardigan and now a spectacular cowl … we are obsessed! There is a reason they have taken the knitting world by storm. These patterns are somehow vintage charm but completely modern. And they offer a dizzying array of possibilities to create your own “spring flower carpet in your head”. In two classes we will learn how to do the mosaic technique used in these patterns (super easy!) by making a swatch together, dissect the patterns so you have a good understanding of how to proceed and explore the endless (and I do mean endless) ways you can make this design your own with any yarns you like. This one is all fun and games!

Keep your eye on the Class Listings at Fiber Circle to sign up (Top Down Class is open now) for my classes - and the packed schedule of all the wonderful classes at the Studio. I hope to see you soon around the table knitting a sweater or some flowers and kicking Spring off (and winter out!) the right way.
